The Modular Home Difference

Quality

Our homes are built in a climate-controlled factory, therefore the quality and techniques are consistent and precision guaranteed every time.

Strength

Though they make look similar to stick-built homes, modular homes are built with approximately ⅓ more structural material than average homes.

Time

The standard home components are generally made in the factory within two to three weeks. Once they are complete, the pieces are scheduled for delivery to the construction site, where it will then take approximately 60-120 days to be finished. The completion time depends on the size of the home, its complexity, and the level of finishes that you selected.

Choice

There are many home styles and specifications to choose from. We only use trusted brands and provide guidance along the way to ensure the final product is the home of your dreams!

Service

We provide complete turnkey services to make the process smoother for everyone involved. From conception and design to the land acquisition and facilitation of the site work and setting of your modular home, we can streamline the process and take care of it entirely.

The Five-Step Building Process

1. Financing

Before calling us, look up your credit report to ensure there are no errors and research the current mortgage rates. Call banks to see which one will offer you the best rate, then have a preliminary mortgage meeting with the bank that you want to work with. From there, you will learn how much you can spend on your new home.

2. Deciding What You Want

This is where the fun begins. Determine what type of house you want based on your lifestyle and family size. Do you want a ranch, colonial, cape, or chalet? Also, decide how many floors, bedrooms, and bathrooms you need and how many square feet you’d like your new home to be.

3. Architectural Plans

You can decide to bring your own plans or use ours. A modular home can be built from your drawn-up plans or created out of your ideas of what your dream home entails.

4. Construction

Once the architectural plans are approved and your financing is secured construction can begin. Westchester Modular Homes will begin construction of your modular home in their climate controlled factory. Meanwhile, we will obtain the necessary building and utility permits and begin site preparation. This includes excavating, grading, and forming the foundation. In addition, we will arrange for subcontractors for the finishing portion and have a set crew and crane scheduled.

5. Finishing

While the foundation is being set and crews lined up, your home is being built at an off-site location in a controlled environment. The home will be shipped to its site location in sections and assembled by the set crew, crane operator, and builder. Once it’s delivered and set, the home is approximately 85% complete. While the foundation is being set and crews lined up, your home is being built at an off site location in a climate controlled environment.
